Responsibilities
- Evaluate and address students unique learning challenges through assessments.
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that focus on student strengths.
- Provide instruction in self-contained classrooms to support diverse needs.
- Work with therapists and school psychologists to ensure well-rounded student support.
- Document progress and maintain compliance with all educational standards.
Details & Requirements
- Primarily elementary needs, split between K-2 and 3-5 bands.
- Mostly self-contained Developmentally Delayed (DD) or Intellectually Delayed (ID) caseloads.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field required.
- Valid Alabama Special Education Teaching Certification (or eligibility to obtain) is mandatory.
- Strong organizational and instructional skills are essential.
