Key Responsibilities
As a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant, you will:
- Assist licensed Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing therapy to students.
- Implement treatment plans and exercises developed by the supervising SLP.
- Collect and document data on student progress for review by the SLP.
- Prepare therapy materials and ensure a safe and supportive environment for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom.
- Maintain compliance with school district and state policies regarding speech-language services.
Qualifications
Educational and Certification Requirements:
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Communication Disorders, Speech Language Pathology, or a related field.
- ActiveMassachusetts SLPA licenseor certification.
- Compliance with all state and district requirements, including background checks.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and intervention techniques.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of an SLP.
