Job Requirements:
- Must have a valid Physical Therapist license in Illinois and meet all state and local regulations to practice in a school-based setting.
- Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.

Job Duties:
As a Physical Therapist in a school-based role, you will be responsible for supporting students physical development, mobility, and functional skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting Evaluations: Assessing students' physical abilities, motor skills, strength, coordination, and mobility needs.
- Developing Treatment Plans: Creating individualized therapy plans based on evaluations and collaborating with the IEP (Individualized Education Plan) team to ensure therapy goals align with educational objectives.
- Providing Direct Therapy Services: Delivering therapy sessions to students to improve strength, balance, mobility, and other motor skills.
- Collaborating with School Teams: Working alongside special education teachers, occupational therapists, and other staff to integrate therapy goals into the students' daily routines and classroom activities.
- Consulting with Families: Regularly updating families on their childs progress and providing recommendations for supporting physical therapy goals at home.
- Monitoring and Tracking Progress: Keeping accurate records of student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed, and participating in IEP meetings to discuss student development.
- Documentation: Ensuring all therapy services, evaluations, and progress notes are properly documented in accordance with school policies and state regulations.
- Training and Support: Offering guidance and training to school staff regarding physical therapy techniques and strategies to support students in the classroom.
