Position Overview:
As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and supportive environment for students. Your expertise will empower students to overcome challenges, achieve academic success, and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct counseling services to students to support their emotional, social, and academic growth.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families to create tailored intervention plans.
- Serve as a liaison between the school and community resources to ensure students and families receive necessary support.
- Address and advocate for students facing crises, including issues such as bullying, mental health concerns, or family challenges.
- Participate in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other student support strategies.
- Facilitate group sessions on topics like conflict resolution, social skills, and coping mechanisms.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
- Current licensure as a School Social Worker in Minnesota (or eligibility to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
