Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced School Occupational Therapist (OT) to join a school district in Anchorage, AK for a full-time role. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated professional to provide therapeutic services that support student success and development in the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs.
- Evaluate students fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills to determine appropriate interventions.
- Develop, implement, and track individual treatment plans to meet students' specific needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the success of students' individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Conduct functional assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations and modifications.
- Provide training and support to school staff regarding strategies and tools for students with sensory and motor challenges.
- Document and maintain accurate records of therapy services and progress.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
- Active Alaska State Occupational Therapy License (required).
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) (preferred).
- Prior experience working as a School OT or with pediatric populations is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of IDEA and other special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
