Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Social Worker for a full-time contract position in a school-based setting in Minooka, IL. We are looking for qualified candidates who meet all local and state regulatory requirements. Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing various issues, including anxiety, trauma, and family dynamics.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution within the school environment.
- Advocate for students and families, connecting them with necessary community resources and support services.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of all services provided, ensuring compliance with district and state policies.
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Organize and conduct workshops for staff and parents on mental health awareness and social-emotional learning strategies.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid social work license in the state of Illinois.
- Prior experience in a school setting, particularly with special education students, is highly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse population of students and families.
