Job Requirements
- Must meet all qualifications and requirements set by local and state regulations to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Illinois.
- Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders effectively.
- Strong understanding of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Typical Job Duties
- Assess, diagnose, and treat students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in alignment with students IEP goals.
- Provide direct therapy services in individual or group settings.
- Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support student success.
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and treatment plans.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations regarding speech and language development.
- Collaborate with staff to create effective strategies to support students in the classroom setting.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to speech therapy services.
