We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Carpentersville, IL. Position Overview:
In this role, you will work closely with students to address their emotional and social needs, provide counseling, and collaborate with staff and families to ensure the well-being of each student. Your efforts will help create a positive, supportive school environment, allowing students to thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Counseling & Emotional Support:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students dealing with social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Teach essential skills such as coping mechanisms, stress management, and conflict resolution to students.
Assessment & Intervention Planning:
- Assess the emotional and social needs of students and create customized intervention plans.
- Track and monitor student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure success.
Collaboration with Teachers, Staff, and Families:
- Partner with teachers, school staff, and families to develop a comprehensive support network for students.
- Participate in team meetings to share insights and collaborate on care strategies.
Crisis Intervention & Long-Term Support:
- Respond to crises and provide immediate emotional support to students in need.
- Develop and implement long-term solutions to address the ongoing needs of students requiring extra assistance.
Advocacy & Mental Health Awareness:
- Promote mental health awareness within the school community.
- Integrate social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and wellness programs into the school culture.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in School Social Work or a related field.
- Licensure: Active School Social Worker license in Illinois, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
- Experience: Preferred experience working with K-12 students in a school or mental health setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication, crisis management, and problem-solving skills with a passion for student success.
