Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Gilroy, CA! Responsibilities:
- Counseling: Provide one-on-one and group counseling for students facing emotional, social, or behavioral difficulties. Teach practical coping mechanisms, stress management techniques, and conflict resolution skills.
- Assessment & Support: Evaluate students needs, create personalized intervention plans, and monitor their progress. Adjust strategies to help each student achieve their goals.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure a holistic approach to student care. Attend meetings and contribute insights to enhance support for students.
- Crisis Management: Act swiftly during student crises, offering immediate support and working with the team to implement long-term strategies.
- Mental Health Advocacy: Promote mental health awareness and advocate for social-emotional learning (SEL) within the school community. Help integrate mental health programs into the curriculum and school culture.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in School Social Work or a related field.
- Licensure: Valid School Social Worker license in California or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Experience working with K-12 students in educational or mental health settings is preferred, though not required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, crisis management abilities, and a passion for supporting students' well-being.
