Blazerworks is excited to partner with a school district in Vallejo, CA, to hire a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment, supporting students' occupational therapy needs and helping them thrive.
Position Details:
- Location: Vallejo, CA
- Position Type: Full-Time, 2024-2025 School Year
- Start Date: ASAP
- Caseload: Elementary, Middle, or High School (varied depending on the school districts needs)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard school hours
Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy plans developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Provide direct services to students to enhance motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student development
- Assist with evaluating students needs and progress
- Document and maintain accurate records of services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting for students
Qualifications:
- Valid COTA license in California
- Prior experience working in a school setting is preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Passion for helping students succeed and grow
