Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements, including:
- Education:
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Licensing:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent licensure in the state of Michigan required.
- Experience:
- Previous experience as a social worker in a school setting is preferred.
- Background Checks:
- Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting as required by Michigan state law.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills to engage with students, parents, and school staff.
- Experience with case management, student counseling, and intervention planning.
- Ability to collaborate with other professionals to support students mental health and overall well-being.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing emotional and psychological support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students in need of social and emotional support.
- Develop and implement intervention plans for students with behavioral or emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create strategies that support students academic and personal growth.
- Assist students with crisis intervention and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, progress, and case management activities.
- Support students in developing coping mechanisms and social skills.
- Provide referrals to community resources and outside professionals as needed.
- Assist in the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community.
