Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Bilingual School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time role with school districts in San Antonio, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to support students' communication development in a diverse and dynamic school setting.
Requirements:
To apply for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Active Texas State Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) License
- Bachelors degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences, or a related field
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (oral and written proficiency required)
- Ability to pass background checks as required by state and local regulations
- Experience working as an SLPA in a school or educational setting is preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Valid Texas Drivers License (if required for travel between campuses)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in providing therapy services to students with communication disorders
- Implement speech and language therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Conduct individual and small group therapy sessions for students, focusing on articulation, language, fluency, and social communication skills
- Provide support to students with speech and language goals in both English and Spanish
- Assist in the preparation of therapy materials and maintain therapy records
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes
- Support the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication needs
- Assist in providing training and guidance to staff and families on speech and language strategies
