Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing for an experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time, school-based contract position in Keller, TX to cover maternity leave. This role provides a great opportunity to make an impact on students communication skills and work within a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language therapy to students.
- Implement therapy plans under the supervision of an SLP, conducting individual and group sessions.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting therapy techniques as needed to meet individual student goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans.
- Assist in conducting speech and language screenings and assessments, as guided by the SLP.
- Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and assessments.
- Provide support for students with special education needs, ensuring therapy aligns with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Work with students to help them develop both academic and social communication skills in the classroom and other school settings.
Requirements:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) certification.
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Must meet all local and state certification requirements.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment.
