Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a full-time, school-based contract position in Union, SC. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified PT to work in a school environment, where you will help students improve their physical function and overall well-being. We are looking for a dedicated professional with experience working with special education students and families.
Job Description: As a Physical Therapist (PT) in this school-based role, you will assess, treat, and develop individualized therapy plans for students with physical needs. You will collaborate closely with special education teams, teachers, and parents to help students achieve their therapy goals and improve their ability to participate in school activities. Experience working with special education students and providing therapy services in an educational setting is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' physical needs by evaluating mobility, balance, strength, coordination, and motor skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each students unique needs and aligned with IEP goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on improving motor skills, strength, flexibility, coordination, and overall mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education teams to ensure therapy goals are integrated into students academic activities and daily routines.
- Monitor student progress and modify therapy plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Document all therapy sessions, student progress, and any modifications to treatment plans in accordance with state and district guidelines.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and collaborating with the team to ensure therapy goals are consistent with the students educational goals.
- Provide training for teachers, school staff, and families to help them support students' physical needs and integrate therapy exercises into their daily activities.
- Ensure all therapy services are in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations for school-based physical therapy.
Qualifications:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of South Carolina.
- Experience working with children in a school setting, particularly students with special education needs, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of school-based therapy practices and how to integrate physical therapy into IEPs.
- Strong ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address students' physical needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, school staff, and other healthcare providers.
- Must meet all state and local requirements for providing physical therapy services in a school setting.
