Job Description:
The School Social Worker will provide a range of services to support the social, emotional, and academic needs of students. This role involves working closely with students, families, teachers, and administrators to address and support the diverse needs of our student population.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral issues.
- Develop and implement strategies to support student well-being and academic success.
- Assist students in developing coping skills and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create and maintain a supportive learning environment.
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and involve them in intervention plans.
- Respond to and manage crisis situations involving students, providing immediate support and intervention.
- Develop and implement crisis prevention and intervention plans.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and confidential records of student services and interventions.
Job Qualifications:
- Masters degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Must hold active Minnesotalicense as a Social Worker
- At least 2 years of experience working as a School Social Worker preferred
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders,
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
