Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher for full-time roles with our partner school districts in the Saint Paul, MN area. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative environment while making a significant impact on students with diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized adapted physical education programs for students with disabilities.
- Assess students physical abilities and needs to determine eligibility for adapted physical education services.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and monitor IEP goals.
- Create engaging and inclusive activities that promote physical development, motor skills, and social interaction.
- Document student progress, prepare reports, and maintain compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' physical education needs.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Hold a valid Minnesota teaching license with an Adapted Physical Education endorsement or equivalent.
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of IEP processes and compliance requirements.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to pass all required background checks and fingerprinting.
