Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Hold a current and valid Virginia Occupational Therapy License (or be eligible for licensure).
- Masters degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations for school-based therapy services.
- Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
As a School-Based Occupational Therapist, your duties will include:
- Conducting assessments to determine students' functional abilities and needs.
- Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans to address students physical, sensory, and motor skill challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support students' educational goals.
- Monitoring progress and adjusting intervention strategies as needed.
- Providing recommendations for classroom modifications and adaptive equipment.
- Maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines.
