Life Skills Specialist - SPED - Wolcott, CT
Join our team as a Life Skills Specialist in Wolcott, CT, and help create meaningful learning experiences for nonverbal students in a life skills classroom.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and understand students' unique skills and needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for K-3rd grade students.
- Design engaging lessons tailored to nonverbal students.
- Collaborate with speech and occupational therapists to enhance student outcomes.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
Details & Requirements
- Elementary caseload: Life skills classroom with 9 students (K-3rd grade).
- Hours: 7:00 AM 2:30 PM.
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field.
- Valid DOE Certification and Special Education Certification.
- Prior experience working with nonverbal students is preferred.
