Responsibilities
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting licensed Occupational Therapists in providing therapy services to students.
- Implementing treatment plans designed to enhance students' motor, sensory, and functional skills.
- Supporting students in developing skills for daily living, classroom participation, and play activities.
- Documenting student progress and reporting to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure consistent support for students.
- Maintaining compliance with school policies and state regulations.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- A valid Massachusetts licensure to practice as a COTA.
- Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
