Responsibilities
As an Occupational Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting evaluations to determine students' therapy needs and creating individualized treatment plans.
- Providing direct occupational therapy services to students to enhance their fine motor, sensory, and functional skills.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students educational goals.
- Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to the development of Individualized Education Programs.
- Ensuring compliance with school, local, and state policies and regulations.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- A valid Massachusetts Occupational Therapist license.
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
