Responsibilities
As a School Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing individual and group counseling to students to address social and emotional challenges.
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student well-being.
- Developing and implementing interventions to address behavioral and emotional issues.
- Connecting families with community resources and services as needed.
- Participating in IEP meetings and providing input for behavior and intervention plans.
- Advocating for students' rights and promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Maintaining detailed and confidential records in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW).
- Current and valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting (preferred).
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and build strong relationships with students and families.
