Job Description:
As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students mental health and educational success. Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct psychological assessments and evaluations to identify student needs related to academic achievement, behavior, and mental health
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement intervention plans and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students addressing emotional, behavioral, and social needs
- Offer crisis intervention and support students through challenging situations or mental health crises
- Conduct observations and provide recommendations to improve classroom environments and student outcomes
- Serve as a resource to school staff on behavioral and emotional management strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and other school-related meetings, advocating for students psychological and educational needs
- Support the overall development of a positive school climate and culture focused on student well-being
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology (required)
- California School Psychologist Certification (required)
- Previous experience working as a School Psychologist or in a school setting is preferred
- Strong assessment, counseling, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse school staff, parents, and students
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting students' mental health and academic success
