ASL School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) San Francisco, CA ($55-60 hr)
Blazerworks has partnered with a school district in San Francisco, CA, to hire a full-time ASL Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse student population and make a significant impact on students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to students using American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of students' communication skills and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student, setting clear therapy goals.
- Provide direct therapy services, focusing on speech articulation, language comprehension, and overall communication development.
- Collaborate closely with educators, special education teams, parents, and other professionals to ensure the success of each student.
- Participate in school-wide meetings, case conferences, and other collaborative activities to contribute to student success.
- Offer guidance to teachers and staff on how to implement communication strategies and support students speech-language development in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid ASHA certification and state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
- Prior experience working with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
