Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be considered for this role:
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current and valid Minnesota Speech-Language Pathologist license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Education:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
- Experience:
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience is highly preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in conducting assessments, developing IEPs, and providing direct therapy services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to manage and document progress in compliance with state and district regulations.
- Compliance:
- Ability to pass all state and district background checks.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities to identify areas for intervention.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address specific needs as outlined in students' IEPs.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in one-on-one or group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress and provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, progress reports, and therapy sessions.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities.
- Educate and guide teachers and staff on strategies to support communication needs in the classroom.
