Blazer Jobs is currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract role in a school-based setting in Central Falls, RI. Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' occupational therapy needs and establish therapy goals.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other functional skills necessary for academic success.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) that meet students needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure continued growth and achievement of therapy goals.
- Assist students in improving their daily living skills, motor coordination, and emotional regulation.
- Train staff and parents on strategies and techniques to support students' therapy needs and ensure consistent progress.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school district and state requirements.
- Attend meetings, including IEP meetings and conferences, to discuss student progress and collaborate with other professionals.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Rhode Island.
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and the special education process.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a school setting.
