Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a dedicated and certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position with school districts in the Ewen, Michigan area. Position Overview:
As a COTA, you will collaborate closely with occupational therapists and other educational professionals to provide therapeutic services that help students succeed academically and socially. Your role will involve supporting students in developing essential skills for their educational journey, promoting independence, and enhancing their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of individualized therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, including activities that improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living tasks.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational staff to support student needs within the classroom setting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of student goals.
- Adapt therapy activities to meet the diverse needs of students in various educational settings.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet all local and state requirements to apply, including:
- Certification: Must hold a current, valid license as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Michigan.
- Education: Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
- Clearances: Must pass a background check, fingerprinting, and other required state and district clearances.
- Experience: Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
