School Social Worker - Anoka, MN (2024-2025 School Year)
Blazerworks, in partnership with a leading school district in Anoka, MN, is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled School Social Worker for a full-time position for the 2024-2025 school year. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team dedicated to empowering students and fostering a positive educational environment.
Position Overview: As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in addressing the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students. You'll work closely with educators, parents, and community resources to help students overcome barriers to learning and promote academic success. If you are passionate about student advocacy, social justice, and creating positive change in the school system, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized student plans
- Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and create tailored interventions
- Facilitate group and individual counseling sessions
- Assist with crisis intervention and provide referrals to community services
- Support the development of a safe and inclusive school environment
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support student success
- Educate students, staff, and families on social-emotional learning and mental health topics
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid Minnesota School Social Worker license (or eligibility for licensure)
- Experience working in a school setting or with children and adolescents is preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of local community resources and support systems
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
