Qualifications:
- Active Arizona Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license
- Associates degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to pass a background check and meet all district, state, and federal requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans to help students develop, regain, or maintain skills necessary for daily school activities
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to students to support fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional mobility
- Document student progress and communicate regularly with the Occupational Therapist and educational team
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment
- Help students use adaptive equipment and strategies to participate in school activities more independently
- Monitor and report on student progress to ensure that therapy goals are being met effectively
