Blazerworks is seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time position in Scranton, PA, for the 2024-2025 school year. We have partnered with the local school district to provide quality support to students in need, promoting their overall development and success.
Position Details:
- Location: Scranton, PA
- Type: Full-Time
- School Year: 2024-2025
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexible hours based on school needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students functional abilities, strengths, and areas of need. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques and strategies to facilitate student engagement and participation in daily school activities. Focus on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and social interaction.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure continued growth and achievement of goals.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and emerging research in occupational therapy and special education. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania.
- Experience working in a school setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
