Occupational Therapist (OT) School-Based Contract Opportunity
Blazer Jobs has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist (OT) in a local school district! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate OT to join our team in a pediatric special education setting. This role involves collaborating with students, educators, and families to support students' functional and academic success.
- Academic School Year Calendar
- Flexible Schedule within Standard School Hours (37.5hrs weekly)
- Hourly Pay Range: starting at $47+ per hour, negotiable upon experience.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional performance in school-related activities.
- Intervention Planning: Develop and implement individualized intervention plans (IEPs) that support students' ability to participate fully in their education.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students with special needs, addressing fine motor skills, sensory integration, and self-care skills.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, parents, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure students receive appropriate accommodations and interventions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, assessments, IEPs, and therapy sessions in compliance with state and district guidelines.
- Support for Families: Educate families on strategies they can use at home to reinforce therapy goals and maximize student progress.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Must hold a valid state-issued Occupational TherapyLicense.
- A Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- At least one year of experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly preferred, with specific experience supporting special education students.
- Strong understanding of IDEA regulations, IEP development, and school-based therapy services.
