Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students functional abilities and determine their need for occupational therapy services
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address specific goals and needs of students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive and effective learning environment
- Provide direct therapy services to students with a variety of disabilities, including physical, sensory, and cognitive challenges
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed
- Educate and support teachers and families on strategies to help students succeed in their daily activities
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for services, accommodations, and modifications
- Assist in promoting student independence, participation, and overall well-being in school settings
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Washington State Occupational Therapist License (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to create and implement individualized therapy plans
- Completion of all required state and local background checks
