Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in providing speech and language therapy services to elementary-aged students.
- Implement speech therapy interventions, including articulation, language development, and social communication, as outlined in each student's treatment plan.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the supervising SLP to ensure appropriate adjustments to therapy strategies.
- Assist with the preparation of materials and support classroom strategies to reinforce speech therapy goals.
- Maintain documentation of therapy sessions, student progress, and any relevant observations.
- Provide support in group therapy settings, as well as individual therapy sessions, as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff to promote student progress and participation.
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed, providing input regarding student progress.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
- California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license in good standing.
- Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques, IEPs, and related documentation requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an SLP, teachers, and school staff to support student success.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a passion for helping students succeed.
