School COTA (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant) ($45 hr)

Blazerworks has partnered with the Oakland school district to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) looking to make a difference in students lives. This full-time position will involve supporting students in various therapeutic and educational activities to promote their academic and functional success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans to address students' motor, sensory, and adaptive needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' IEP goals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of students' progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to interdisciplinary strategies to improve student outcomes
Requirements:
- Active COTA certification in California
- Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations (preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with school staff, students, and parents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
