Job Requirements
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Licensure: Current North Carolina Occupational Therapy license.
- Certification: Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy program and NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy) certification.
- State Requirements: Completion of background checks and any other state-mandated clearances for working in an educational setting.
- Experience: Prior experience in pediatrics or school-based occupational therapy is preferred.
- Collaboration Skills: Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with teachers, parents, and the educational team.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and Assess: Conduct assessments of students to determine their individual needs for occupational therapy.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized intervention plans targeting motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely with educators, support staff, and families to ensure student progress and support their success in the educational environment.
- Monitor and Document Progress: Maintain accurate documentation on student progress and adapt treatment plans as needed.
