We are seeking a dedicated School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in Fillmore, CA. This full-time position involves working with a Pre-K to 12th-grade caseload of approximately 55 students. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students with speech and language challenges and be capable of supporting SLPAs as needed, including potential supervision duties. Job Details:
- Position Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
- Caseload: Approximately 55 students (Pre-K through 12th grade)
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 40 hours per week
- Duties: General SLP responsibilities as needed, including working with students on speech and language development
- Additional Responsibilities: Support for SLPAs with the potential to provide supervision
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate speech and language needs for students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on assessments
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students to improve communication skills
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans to meet evolving needs
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development and academic success
- Support SLPAs by providing guidance, feedback, and supervision when appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, evaluations, and progress notes
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert input on speech and language goals
- Provide recommendations for classroom accommodations and modifications to support students communication needs
- Stay current on the latest SLP practices and educational techniques
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current California State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting preferred
- Ability to support and supervise SLPAs
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educators, staff, and families
- Knowledge of IEP development, speech and language interventions, and effective therapy techniques
- Ability to work with a diverse range of students, including those with special needs and developmental disabilities
