This is an exciting opportunity to support students in achieving their academic and functional goals in a dynamic and supportive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students' motor, sensory, and functional needs to determine eligibility and develop individualized plans.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and school staff to implement effective interventions and accommodations.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services in individual and group settings.
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to students' needs.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and reports in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
- Consult with teachers and staff to promote strategies that enhance student participation and success in the classroom.
- Participate in team meetings, including IEP and 504 plan discussions.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (required).
- Active Rhode Island Occupational Therapy license (required).
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) (preferred).
- Previous experience in a school setting (preferred).
- Must meet all local and state requirements, including:
- Passing a comprehensive background check.
- Current immunizations and health clearances.
