Position Overview:
As a Bilingual Social Worker, you will collaborate with educators, families, and community organizations to support students academic, emotional, and social well-being. This role requires fluency in English and another language to effectively engage with diverse populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and support services to students and families.
- Assess and address student needs related to academic, emotional, and social challenges.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to promote student success.
- Facilitate communication between the school, families, and community resources.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to address classroom behavior and attendance issues.
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution when necessary.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the followinglocal and state requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field (required).
- Valid New Jersey School Social Worker certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language (required).
- Experience working with school-aged children and families (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of community resources and support services.
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.
