Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team in Central Falls, RI. This is a full-time position with a caseload of PreK students. The primary responsibilities of this role involve case management and supporting the needs of students and families through coordination and advocacy, with no direct student services.
Caseload:
- PreK students
- Focus on case management for students in need of support services
- No direct student therapy or counseling services
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide case management services, including coordinating care and support for students with special needs
- Work with families to connect them with community resources and services
- Monitor students progress and maintain communication with teachers and school staff
- Advocate for students needs within the school system and ensure proper service delivery
- Collaborate with IEP teams to ensure students' needs are addressed through appropriate accommodations and services
- Develop and maintain detailed case records and documentation
- Support school staff in understanding social-emotional and behavioral needs of students
- Provide crisis intervention and respond to emergencies as needed
- Attend school meetings, including IEP meetings, to provide input on student needs and services
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW)
- Valid Rhode Island Social Worker license (LICSW or LCSW)
- Experience working in a school or educational setting, preferably with young children (PreK)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and community agencies
- Experience with case management and resource coordination
- Knowledge of child development and social-emotional needs of young children
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential case records
