Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) for a full-time role with school districts in the New Britain, CT area. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) based on assessments.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language impairments, including articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and parents to support students' communication needs in the classroom.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy strategies as needed.
- Support students with alternative communication systems such as AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) devices.
- Conduct regular meetings with parents and staff to provide updates on student progress and discuss treatment strategies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, contributing to IEP development and progress monitoring.
- Provide consultation to teachers and staff regarding speech and language needs in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders (required).
- CT State licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required).
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred, but not required).
- Experience working in a school setting with students from preschool through high school (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development, as well as common speech disorders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
