This role provides an exciting opportunity to work directly with students, helping them overcome physical, cognitive, and sensory challenges to thrive in the school environment.
Position Overview
As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing students' needs, developing individualized therapy plans, and delivering interventions that enhance students' ability to participate fully in their educational experience. You will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create supportive learning environments tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to determine students' occupational therapy needs and create individualized intervention plans.
- Deliver therapy services to support students' fine motor, gross motor, sensory processing, and self-help skills.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other specialists to integrate occupational therapy goals into the classroom setting.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
- Educate teachers and caregivers on strategies to support students' needs and maximize their independence.
Requirements
- Education: Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Pennsylvania state regulations and standards for school-based occupational therapy.
- Background check clearance.
- Completion of all district-required trainings or certifications.
