Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Social Workers for a full-time role within the Des Plaines, IL school district. We are seeking compassionate, skilled professionals dedicated to supporting students social and emotional well-being, advocating for their needs, and providing essential resources to help them succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and support to students, individually and in groups, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify students in need of social work services.
- Develop and implement interventions that promote positive behaviors and emotional regulation.
- Conduct assessments and create individualized service plans for students requiring additional support.
- Act as a liaison between the school, families, and community resources to ensure students have access to needed services.
- Assist in crisis situations and provide ongoing support for students affected by trauma or family difficulties.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) School Social Worker Endorsement.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Work endorsement.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and build strong relationships with students and families.
