Responsibilities
As a School Social Worker, you will:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and community resources to create comprehensive support plans for students.
- Conduct assessments to identify students needs and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, and school personnel to address barriers to learning.
- Facilitate crisis intervention and conflict resolution strategies as needed.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Advocate for students well-being and provide referrals to external services as necessary.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to apply:
- Educational Background: Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field.
- Certification: Valid Connecticut certification/licensure as a School Social Worker.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working in a school or educational setting.
