Position Overview:
As a School Social Worker with BlazerJobs, you will be based in Centreville, MI, starting August 12, 2024. This full-time role involves working 35 hours per week with K-12 students, primarily within a special education setting. You will manage a caseload of up to 60 students and may be required to travel between schools. An active 310 certification is required for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive social work services to K-12 students, addressing their emotional, behavioral, and social needs within a special education context.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, provide counseling, and devise strategies to enhance students' academic and personal development.
- Maintain detailed, confidential records of student interactions, progress, and interventions.
- Facilitate effective communication between home and school to support student needs and promote a positive educational atmosphere.
- Manage and prioritize a caseload of up to 60 students, ensuring targeted support and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Valid 310 certification is required.
- Previous experience working with K-12 students, particularly in special education settings, is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to handle a diverse caseload and create impactful intervention strategies.
