Position Overview:
As a School Psychologist in Walled Lake, you will work directly with students across all grade levelsfrom Kindergarten through 12th gradeproviding essential psychological support and services. Your role will include conducting psychological assessments, creating individualized intervention plans, providing counseling services, and collaborating with educators, families, and school administrators to help students thrive in an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Psychological Evaluations: Conduct thorough psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students' academic, cognitive, and emotional development.
- Intervention Strategies: Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address students' behavioral, emotional, and academic challenges.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure students psychological needs are met and supported in all areas of their development.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support during crisis situations, offering both counseling and assistance to students in need.
- Professional Development: Stay current with trends and best practices in school psychology through continuous professional learning and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree or higher in School Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Active Michigan state licensure as a School Psychologist (PPS Credential or equivalent).
- Experience: Previous experience in providing psychological support to K-12 students is preferred, particularly with those facing academic, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and supportive approach to student care.
Position Details:
- Location: Onsite at schools within Walled Lake, MI, part of a forward-thinking school district.
- Employment Type: Full-time, W-2 employee status.
- Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.
