Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker for a full-time role with school districts in the Middletown, CT area. This position requires individuals who are passionate about providing comprehensive support to students, families, and school communities. As a School Social Worker, you will be an integral part of the educational team, helping to address various social, emotional, and academic needs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assess and identify the social, emotional, and developmental needs of students.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to address social and academic challenges.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.
- Connect students and families with community resources and services.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 plans.
- Advocate for students and ensure a safe, positive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Social Work or related field.
- Must hold a valid state School Social Worker certification or be eligible to obtain one.
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) preferred.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of child development, behavioral health, and social services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
