Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to work 1:1 with a PreK student who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) in the capacity of a paraprofessional. The role requires close collaboration with an exceptional team of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in a school-based setting. This is a full-time, contract position that offers a quick interview and hiring process, competitive pay, and guaranteed hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a PreK DHH student, assisting with communication needs under the supervision of an SLP.
- Work directly with the student in a school setting, ensuring individualized attention and care.
- Collaborate with special education (SPED) staff to meet the unique needs of the student.
- Follow the SLP's treatment plans and document student progress.
Requirements:
- Active Connecticut SLPA licensure.
- School-based experience is a must.
- Must be comfortable working with the SPED population.
- Ability to work effectively in a 1:1 capacity with DHH students.
- Completion of district-required background checks and paperwork.
- Onsite position; remote work is not available.
