Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPA) for a full-time position with school districts in the Opelousas, LA area. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join a dynamic educational team to provide speech therapy support to students in need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing treatment plans for students.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed SLP.
- Help students develop communication skills and improve speech and language abilities.
- Maintain and document progress notes for student sessions.
- Ensure therapy sessions are conducted in a safe, supportive, and structured environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student goals and success.
- Assist in preparing therapy materials and classroom activities related to speech-language therapy.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Louisiana.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively under the direction of a licensed SLP.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, flexibility, and passion for working with students.
- Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to achieve educational goals.
