Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments for students in grades K-12.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support students' physical development and functional mobility.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create supportive learning environments.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide input on students physical needs and progress.
- Educate school staff on strategies and adaptations to assist students with physical challenges in the classroom.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records of therapy services provided.
Requirements:
- Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in Washington, D.C.
- Experience working with pediatric populations, ideally within a school-based setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt therapy approaches to meet individual student needs.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education services.
