Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a qualified, experienced Psychologist for a full-time, school-based role in Wolcott, CT. This exciting opportunity is ideal for professionals looking to make a significant impact within the education system while working closely with students, staff, and families. The position is for an experienced psychologist who meets all requirements as set by local and state regulations. Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Psychological Assessments: Administer psychological tests and assessments for students to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Provide Counseling Services: Offer individual and group counseling to students with mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral disorders.
- Develop and Implement IEPs: Collaborate with the school team to create and review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Consult with Staff and Parents: Provide guidance to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic progress.
- Crisis Intervention: Assist with immediate mental health crises, offering support and intervention when needed.
- Monitor Student Progress: Track and document students' progress and provide ongoing assessments to ensure proper intervention strategies are in place.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work alongside special education teachers, social workers, and other school personnel to create a holistic support system for students.
- Attend IEP Meetings: Actively participate in IEP and 504 meetings to advocate for students mental health and academic needs.
Job Requirements:
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Psychology.
- Licensed Psychologist (as per state and local regulations).
- Experience with special education students and working with families is strongly preferred.
- Must meet all local and state regulations for the role.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
