Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to join our team in Walpole, MA! In this vital role, you will support K-12 students with emotional, social, and behavioral challenges, helping them succeed both academically and personally. Core Responsibilities:
- Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling services to students dealing with emotional, behavioral, and social challenges. Support students in developing coping skills, stress management, and conflict resolution.
- Assessment & Intervention: Assess students' emotional and social needs and create personalized intervention plans. Track progress and adjust interventions to help students achieve their potential.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, school staff, and families to provide a comprehensive approach to student support. Attend meetings and contribute valuable insights to create a unified care plan.
- Crisis Management: Respond quickly and effectively to student crises, providing immediate emotional support and collaborating with the team on long-term solutions.
- Advocacy & Awareness: Promote mental health awareness within the school community. Advocate for social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives and integrate mental health education into the school culture.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in School Social Work or a related field.
- Licensure: Valid School Social Worker license in Massachusetts or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience: Experience working with K-12 students in a school or mental health setting is preferred, but not required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, crisis management abilities, and a passion for supporting students' emotional well-being.
